Why does their way of being sometimes make others uncomfortable?
Because presence interrupts unconscious patterns.
When someone:
- does not react where reaction is expected
- does not escalate tension
- does not rush to fill silence
- does not perform identity
it exposes the mechanics of the system itself.
This can feel unsettling.
Presence does not mirror anxiety back to the environment.
And systems built on anxiety often don’t know how to read that signal.
