They do not reject society.
They simply do not derive their orientation from it.

They can participate fully:

• in work
• in relationships
• in community

But they do not build their sense of self from social validation.

They are not against systems.
They are not dependent on them for coherence.

This independence is often misinterpreted as distance or detachment.
