About
Breathe. Trust. Oops. was created for my friend Dessi, inspired by her connection with reflection, inner exploration and the idea of finding our own compass through life.
The song began with the language of calm: breathe, listen, trust the heart, follow the compass. But then another thought entered the creation — life does not always cooperate with our beautifully considered direction. Sometimes, just when everything appears to be flowing exactly as expected, life simply says: “Nope. We’re going sideways.”
That contrast became the heart of the song. The music moves from genuine meditative calm into an unexpectedly playful rhythm, and then returns to serenity as though nothing happened.
It is both affectionate and mischievous: a reminder that trust does not require life to follow the plan. Sometimes we breathe, sometimes we trust — and sometimes we simply say “Oops,” laugh, and continue.
“Life is funny, Dessi. Might as well laugh.”
Lyrics
[Intro — soft, meditative]
Śāntiḥ… Śāntiḥ… Śāntiḥ…
Breathe in…
Breathe out…
Listen to the quiet inside.
Trust your heart,
trust the way,
let the compass be your guide.
[soft pause]
Maybe north…
maybe south…
maybe everything will flow…
[beat suddenly changes]
Or maybe life says—
“Nope.
We’re going sideways.”
[Chorus — bright, playful]
Breathe.
Trust.
Oops.
There goes the plan again.
Breathe.
Trust.
Oops.
And here we go again.
You can follow every sign,
you can ask the stars above—
Life is funny, Dessi.
Might as well laugh.
[Music returns to complete serenity]
Śāntiḥ… Śāntiḥ…
Breathe in…
Breathe out…
Trust the path…
[long pause]
Oops.
ting.
